Byte Lab

Byte Lab was contracted by Telraam, a company focused on traffic data collection, to develop a low-cost IoT traffic counting sensor. The project involved converting a small pilot batch of a prototype sensor to full operational readiness for larger scale production and assembly. Byte Lab offered support in design modifications during production. The team of 2-5 employees from Byte Lab was chosen based on high ratings, good value for cost, and a referral.

In a collaboration with Omvorm, a design studio, Byte Lab was tasked with the development and production of electronics. The company guided Omvorm in the development of a meter reader that digitizes analog utility meters, made an initial series of prototypes for testing, and then took over the production of thousands of devices. Byte Lab was chosen for this project because of their pricing, culture fit, and good value for cost.

Byte Lab worked with Troido GmbH, a custom software and hardware development company, on the development of firmware for an ESP32 based IoT product. The team developed complete firmware for the product, implementing features such as OTA, GUI design and implementation, Secure Boot, multiple sensors, speaker and coin detection algorithm. They also proactively proposed hardware schematic review services, which further improved the product. Byte Lab was selected for their pricing, culture fit, good value for cost, and alignment with company values.
