Highlights from Recent Projects
Brand Institute was enlisted by a healthcare company to help with their naming process. The company knew what they wanted from a business perspective and had certain objectives in mind, but needed assistance in finding names that would be approved by regulatory bodies. The Brand Institute team, consisting of 6-7 members from different departments, guided the company through a discovery process and helped narrow down hundreds of options to a few top names. The project, which started in Q4 2019, is expected to conclude in March 2022 with the delivery of a list of final names, complete with descriptions and meanings, as well as a PowerPoint presentation.
A biotechnology company hired Brand Institute to develop and validate a global brand name strategy, including providing regulatory support. The team from Brand Institute, which included account services, the head of EU, head of Brazil regulatory, and their creative team, led workshops to help the company think of brand names that aligned with their positioning, brand essence, and brand objectives. They also helped the company understand regulatory risk and write supporting submission documents for the EU, Canada, Brazil, and the US. The team also helped the company think of backup names and strategies to optimize a brand name submission and approval.
Brand Institute was engaged by a biotech company to help develop the tradename for a highly specialized targeted cancer agent. The team from Brand Institute, which included a VP and his staff working on client services, as well as other members with expertise such as ex FDA reviewers, used their method of analyzing the brand personality, the company's vision for the brand, and the competitive landscape to identify a tradename that resonated with the product. The name also needed to have some correlation to the mechanism of action, biologic target, disease addressed, etc., and needed to resonate with senior management and be approved by the FDA. Brand Institute's support was critical in navigating the process all the way up to FDA submission and approval.
