Highlights from Recent Projects
Bit Space Development Ltd. partnered with a provincial crown corporation in northern Manitoba to develop a VR training program for local mines. The company was instrumental in strategizing and planning the project, conducting interviews with stakeholders to determine the best approach for development. Bit Space designed a custom training module for VR headsets, which included a tour of the mines captured by a local photographer. Despite the project being delayed by COVID-19 restrictions, Bit Space managed to complete it on time and within the budget of approximately $50,000.
Bit Space Development Ltd. was hired by a nonlethal weapon innovation company to conduct a software audit and fix. The company required Bit Space to decipher and reorganize existing code to make it more user-friendly. The code had been poorly constructed by a previous engineering firm, necessitating Bit Space's intervention. The CEO of the company worked with three high-end engineers from Bit Space and was impressed with their technical prowess. The project, which started in November 2020, is ongoing and has so far cost the company $190,000.
Georgian College, an academic institution, contracted Bit Space Development Ltd. to create four Indigenous virtual worlds for their Anishnaabemowin and Program Development program. The virtual worlds were designed to simulate real-life experiences and facilitate the learning of Anishnaabemowin for students. The Bit Space team worked closely with the college to create landscapes and assets translated into Anishnaabemowin. The team at Bit Space, including Dan, Jennifer, and several co-op students, were praised for their attentiveness and ability to create assets and environments that met the college's needs.
