Highlights from Recent Projects
Axess Lab was employed by Iris, an education company focused on helping people with disabilities find employment, to develop an accessible job matching app. The app, funded by a grant, was designed to connect job seekers with disabilities to potential employers through a non-traditional application process, including video or voice responses to questions. Axess Lab developed the web app from scratch, ensuring it was fully accessible for various impairments and cognitive disabilities. The project, which began in May 2017, was managed by a project manager from Axess Lab and cost approximately $110,400 USD.
For Instant Advisor, a digital tool for employers managing employees with super skills, Axess Lab was hired to develop and test a prototype. The goal of the project was to ascertain the needs and demands of employers, employees, and coaches. The selection of Axess Lab was based on their expertise in digital accessibility, a recommendation from a business contact, and their ability to conduct interviews with experts, researchers, and HR managers. The results of these interviews formed the basis of the prototype, which was then tested on a selected group of users. The team, which included a project leader and a UX designer from Axess Lab, also produced a short animated movie as part of the project.
