Highlights from Recent Projects
Atomic Robot was enlisted by the United States Playing Card Company to revamp their app called Bicycle ® How To Play, which had not been updated since its launch in 2013. The app, which contained rules for over 80 different card games, was becoming increasingly incompatible with newer devices. Atomic Robot revitalized the app by incorporating user feedback, generating new ideas, and reworking the initial design and backend layout. The project, which cost around $75,000, ran from October 2017 to March 2018 and resulted in an updated iOS and Android app that was compatible with current devices.
In a collaboration with a national retail chain, Atomic Robot was tasked with developing new components for the company's native mobile experience. They worked closely with the in-house staff to develop modules for a health and wellness space within the retailer's mobile app. The project followed an Agile process, with multiple iterations and a focus on creating a positive customer experience. The partnership, which began in September 2017, involved eight Atomic Robot developers and is still ongoing.
Atomic Robot was engaged by a payment gateway company to assist with the integration of a new payment backend. The goal of the project was to lower costs by switching to a new backend service. Atomic Robot built a simulator that mirrored the payment processor, allowing the system to be thoroughly tested. The project, which was led by two of Atomic Robot's team members, was successful in achieving the company's objectives.
