Aten Design Group

Aten Design Group was contracted by the Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity (CARHE) at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health to design a website. The organization, founded in 2021, required a website that aligned with its needs, goals, and upcoming plans for ongoing web development and web-hosted projects. Aten Design Group developed the website from scratch using Drupal, created templates and designs for easy content updates, and built an interactive partners map. The website was launched in September 2022, and Aten Design Group continues to provide ongoing maintenance and further development. The project cost was between $80,000 and $85,000.

Aten Design Group worked with the Human Rights Watch Film Festival to upgrade their outdated Drupal 7 website to the latest version. The new website needed to be accessible to audience members with disabilities and effectively communicate the festival's offerings, both in-person and online. Aten Design Group completely redesigned the site's structure, migrated it to a new Drupal platform, updated the visual identity, and developed a customized model to showcase the festival's features. The project began in June 2021 and was completed by December 2021, with Aten Design Group retained for ongoing site maintenance.

For an environmental nonprofit organization, Aten Design Group developed a company intranet. The organization needed to migrate their intranet from on-premises servers to a cloud host, update the intranet's design to reflect new branding, and review their information strategy through UX. Aten Design Group conducted workshops, created a strategy for better information organization and structure, delivered interactive mock-up designs, and developed the intranet using Drupal. The intranet includes an employee directory, a feed with employee data from the HR management system, and a single-sign-on functionality. The project ran from November 2022 to December 2023 and cost approximately $250,000.
