AppTier

AppTier was contracted by a privately held investment company to implement the OpenText product, Livelink, as a document management system. The project was divided into multiple phases and broken down by business units. The first phase involved rolling out the system to one business unit and training them. The project, which lasted for about a year and a half, was not only expensive but also involved the creation of a physical objects database within Livelink to track collateral documents for the legal department. AppTier was involved in all aspects of the project and continued to provide support through upgrades and new releases even after the project's completion. The company is now in a managed services contract with AppTier.

AppTier was also engaged by a pharmaceutical company to implement OpenText to manage documentation within their GXP environments and regulatory submissions. This was a shift from their previous paper-based system. AppTier was involved in every stage of the project, from establishing direction to formulating strategy, deployments, training, development, and testing. The functionality of OpenText and the ability of the vendors to demonstrate their capabilities were the primary reasons for choosing OpenText over other ECM competitors. The project, which is still ongoing, is expected to last another three or four years. The company expressed satisfaction with AppTier's involvement and contributions to the project.
