Application Frameworks was hired by an energy company to consolidate and modernize their numerous prepayment systems into a centralized one. The energy company, focused on the development, manufacturing, and sales of electricity, gas, and water metering products, wanted a system that would operate in harmony with their SAP vending process. The new system also needed to offer features such as regional customization and role separation, catering to over 20 other companies' unique needs.
The firm discovered Application Frameworks through a referral, and a team of 2 to 5 employees embarked on the project. The task encompassed merging five STS prepayment systems interfaced with utility ERP. These systems served keypad electricity meters and both chipcard and NFC card gas meters. Also, Automatic vending via ERP to third-party partners was implemented. Customization was extensively utilized to create regional and role separation among the 20+ companies utilizing the system.
Application Frameworks successfully delivered on its mandate, the project's results and feedback were very satisfactory. The numerous prepayment systems were successfully merged into one convenient and streamlined central system. Also, the company efficiently integrated the central system into the utility company's ERP software. This integration enabled the utility company to automatically vend electricity and gas through the ERP system to third-party partners. Furthermore, the level of system customization was lauded for enabling selective access to different companies and the separation of roles among these companies.
