Rufus Labs, a technology company that creates tools for enterprise customers such as rugged wearables for warehouse and construction workers, partnered with ANDESIGN for their hardware design needs. They required a company that could provide a variety of services and a skill set that an in-house design team would not have. ANDESIGN was tasked with the industrial design of Rufus Labs' main product, a ruggedized wrist wearable suitable for construction, military, and oil and gas industry workers. The product had to withstand harsh conditions like stone splash, sand, the environment of an oil rig, and cold storage. ANDESIGN rose to the challenge, creating a more battle-proof design. The team also worked on charging docks and other products yet to hit the market. Rufus Labs expressed satisfaction with the consistency in the look across their line of products, which ANDESIGN managed to maintain. They also appreciated that ANDESIGN's global teams could handle certain elements of the product build and quality assurance. The project, which started in November 2016, is ongoing and Rufus Labs has invested approximately $500,000 in this collaboration.
