Acutance Imaging undertook a custom software development project for Corephotonics, a company that manufactures cameras for smartphones and mobile devices. The project involved image signal processor (ISP) tuning, using blocks, algorithms, and proprietary parts of the Qualcomm code. Acutance Imaging, being qualified to work with the proprietary parts of Qualcomm code, was able to successfully provide software development and code migrations for different Qualcomm chipsets. They also handled ISP tuning for final products, a task they excelled at. The project, which started in January 2017, involved about 20 people from Acutance Imaging, including ISP tuners and developers, and cost nearly $1 million. The collaboration is still ongoing with new projects emerging every couple of months.
