Highlights from Recent Projects
Abira Security was hired by UnderDefense for a penetration testing project. The aim was to conduct an independent security audit to ensure the security of all assets and applications. Abira's team assessed the current infrastructure and applications for potential threats or vulnerabilities, demonstrated exploitation scenarios for each of the discovered findings, and guided the client in fixing these defects. The team, comprised of two security engineers, performed exceptionally, assessing items from OWASP Top 10 and SANS25, and discovering numerous findings. They were instrumental in the remediation process, providing valuable support over the three-week engagement.
In another project, Abira Security provided cybersecurity consulting for a software development and data marketing services firm. The goal was to improve the company's overall security posture. As a security consultant, Abira introduced new ideas, services, and products that the client could leverage. They advised on best practices to upgrade antivirus solutions, considered single pane of glass (SPOG) security management products, and consolidated some of the client's legacy technologies. The client was highly satisfied with the individualized approach, communication, and response times of the two senior-level experts from Abira.
Abira Security was also hired by a retail company to provide cybersecurity mitigation services. After a security breach compromised one of the company's email addresses, Abira was brought in to identify how the breach occurred, what information was accessed by the hackers, and to restore affected files. Using unified audit log within Office 365 and Microsoft Azure, they identified how the password breach happened, eliminated rules set up by the hackers, and closed active sessions within Microsoft Exchange. They installed Malwarebytes and Cylance, created multi-factor authentication (MFA) servers, and recovered deleted files. The client was extremely satisfied with the swift and effective response from Abira's team.
