Abidance Consulting

Abidance Consulting was engaged by an energy consulting company to provide expert advice on cybersecurity regulations for electric utility companies. The project, which started in February 2015, involved conducting a gap analysis on documents and procedures, quality reviews and offering guidance on remediation from a customer's perspective. The primary contact for the project was James, the Director of Regulatory Compliance. The project is still ongoing, and the company continues to benefit from the expert guidance provided by Abidance Consulting.

In another project, Abidance Consulting was contracted by a municipal government to assist with SERC and PCI compliance. The project, which started around 2009 or 2010, involved handling all SERC filings, creating necessary policies, conducting mock audits and annual reviews, and providing support during SERC audits. Abidance Consulting also assisted with physical security audits and PCI compliance, ensuring that the municipal government had the necessary policies and training in place. The municipal government continues to work with Abidance Consulting for policy reviews and updates.

Abidance Consulting was also hired by a major energy company to provide training and consulting services on new NERC reliability standards specific to critical infrastructure protection. Starting in September 2009, the project involved providing an overview of the new standards, offering detailed descriptions and alternative interpretations, delivering training sessions, documenting operating procedures, ensuring compliance, and performing ad hoc audits. The project is still ongoing due to the continuous changes in regulatory rules. The energy company appreciates the expertise and support provided by Abidance Consulting in ensuring compliance with the new standards.
