Xyonix

Xyonix was hired by Madrona Venture Labs for a machine learning application development project. The venture capital firm required expertise in audio and video processing, natural language processing (NLP), and experience in building cloud-based, scalable model training and inference pipelines. Xyonix's team, led by Deep and his associate Bill, delivered a proof of concept quickly, which helped the client test the user experience and brainstorm more product features. The project adopted an iterative development approach, starting with a basic model and gradually adding complexity as more data was accumulated. The client appreciated Xyonix's pragmatic approach, which helped manage risk and timelines, and enabled the product to reach users for testing promptly.

For Delta Dental of Washington, a dental-only insurer, Xyonix undertook a data analysis and model production project. The insurer wanted to understand how individuals were using their services, track attrition, predict coverage termination, and understand the factors affecting such an event. Xyonix started with a Pathfinder phase, meeting with stakeholders, leaders, and technical personnel to understand the scope of work and goals. They analyzed the client's data set for type, quality, and breadth, and determined whether it was adequate to achieve the client's goals. The second phase involved refining a larger, more representative data set and determining if it provided signals that could help achieve business goals. The findings were then presented to the client's leaders, leading to a decision for a longer-term engagement to create a production-ready model. The client appreciated Xyonix's quick response and ease of collaboration, leading to an ongoing relationship.
