Highlights from Recent Projects
Tonic was hired by Greenore Port, a subsidiary of the Doyle Shipping Group, to digitize their Port Agency service. The company was managing a large amount of information through physical documents, excel documents, and email chains. Tonic developed a system capable of storing information, creating PDF documents automatically, handling e-signatures, sending automated emails, and tracking ships through a robust checklist system. The system was also integrated with Greenore's financial and scheduling systems. Tonic was chosen for their hands-on approach and the time they spent understanding the business before proposing a solution. The project was completed by a team of five including a project manager, CTO/Tech Lead, and three full-stack developers. They utilized Ruby on Rails technology for the build.
Mustard, a recruitment automation software company, engaged Tonic to transform their ideas into tangible wireframes, system architecture, budgets, and timelines. The goal was to quickly and confidently bring their own high-quality product to market. Tonic was chosen for their unique approach, their experience in the software industry, and their focus on delivering regular, high-quality work without delays. The project team included a full-time full-stack engineer, a fractional CTO, and a designer. They utilized Rails, Heroku, and Tailwind technologies for the project. Tonic also ensured that for every customer-facing feature built, there was an internal management panel so that Mustard's team could manage as much as possible without needing a software engineer on call 24/7. The project was managed by a dedicated project manager who ensured the product development moved at speed and communicated progress back to Mustard.
