Ortom8 Limited was hired by an IT consulting firm to improve and automate a Microsoft Scheduler estate. The goal was to enhance efficiencies and reduce operating expenditure. Ortom8 was chosen based on pricing, the perceived compatibility of the teams, and the vendor's processes and practices. The project involved migrating a sizable Microsoft Scheduler estate onto the Ortom8 platform, which provided better visibility and control over the scheduling and management of automated jobs. The migration was carried out in phases to minimize business risk. The Ortom8 team also integrated their own processes and ways of working into the client's, providing portal access for incident logging and management. The client was surprised by how well the managed service element combined with their own processes and practices, making the support structure easy to onboard. The project team also provided comprehensive training to the client's operations team and created documentation that allowed the client to see their full batch end to end for the first time. The Ortom8 team included an Account Manager, Technical architect, Service Operations Manager, and a Project Manager.
