Elmitel

Elmitel was hired by a company that develops IoT technology for farmers to create a cloud-based predictive software. The goal was to predict the onset of pathogens based on weather patterns, helping farmers minimize losses. The software uses data from multiple sensors installed in orchards over extended periods. The risk factor for specific pathogens is assessed, determining when spraying is necessary. Elmitel was selected for their unique experience in this field. The project was successful, with the client dealing primarily with the program manager and two other team members with experience in biology, server-based software, and web-based interface.

In another project, Elmitel was contracted by Siemens to develop an Android Auto app for a charging station platform. The app, developed by a team of 3-4 people, allows users to find the best price and closest distance of a charging station for their electric vehicle. It uses live data about charging station availability through BIG IoT technology and routes users from their position to the charging station using GPS technology. Elmitel was selected from 40-50 proposals due to their strong application. The project, which ran from July to November 2018, was completed successfully with a budget of approximately $39,620 USD.

Elmitel was also hired by a satellite operator providing mobile satellite services to develop custom firmware for Libelium IoT devices. The goal was to create solutions using off-the-shelf IoT equipment that would work with the client's satellite system to serve locations worldwide. Elmitel designed, developed, deployed operationally, and supported a satellite-based IoT system. They were selected as part of the Libelium partner ecosystem with validated solutions in operation. The project was successful, with a small team of experts developing the solution, and Elmitel continues to enhance the solution for deployments in additional areas of the world.
