Highlights from Recent Projects
Cartesian DataSciences partnered with APL Logistics, a leading provider of supply chain services, to address the issue of per diem charges in the logistics industry. The project was divided into two phases; the first involved data analysis of over a year's worth of raw data to identify key variables driving these charges. The second phase was a deeper dive into these variables to quantify their impact and identify potential solutions. The project involved a significant amount of collaboration between the two companies, with a team of 3-5 members from Cartesian DataSciences working closely with 4-6 stakeholders from APL Logistics. The project ran from May 2019 to January 2020, with a total investment of around $33,000.
In a separate project, Cartesian DataSciences worked with Bombas Socks, an e-commerce apparel brand, to develop a marketing attribution model. The company gathered data from Bombas Socks and conducted an exploratory analysis of their business. Based on this, they created a Python model to analyze efficiency trends at a channel level, helping the brand forecast spend and expected return. The project, which began in June 2020, involved a team of four data scientists and scholars from Cartesian DataSciences working under the guidance of the Americas Director, Jim.
Finally, Cartesian DataSciences collaborated with a beauty brand to build a model for one of their segments. The project involved forecasting, customer research, dashboards, and reporting, with additional support in data science. The beauty brand worked with a team of 8-9 people from Cartesian DataSciences, with the project commencing in June 2019 and still ongoing. The total investment in the project ranged between $250,000 and $500,000.
