Highlights from Recent Projects
Nika Craft was hired by Naradana WebSolutions to make technical and UI oriented improvements to the Naradana Platform. This included developing a generic UI control, fixing legacy bugs, making UI enhancements, reorganizing the database model for multi-language support, and researching solutions for the migration of code generators to node.js. The goal was to enhance the functionality of the platform and assess the technical challenges of migrating from ASP with JetEngine to node.js and PostgreSQL. Nika Craft was selected for this project due to Naradana's positive past experiences with the company and their shared business values.
The project comprised of various tasks driven by the overall development needs of the Naradana Platform. After initial training on Holistic Programming and the architecture of the Naradana Platform, the team used a modified Scrum method to manage tasks. The developers, who were still finishing their university degrees, had to learn to program within the new platform, adding an extra layer of challenge. Nika Craft's developers provided programming in JavaScript on both client-side and server-side, implemented UI functionality using Dojo, and worked with complex object models. They also conducted research and developed node.js and related spike solutions. The project ended abruptly due to budget restrictions, but Nika Craft assisted in transferring unfinished tasks back to Naradana.
The results of the project were positive, despite the unforeseen budget restrictions that led to its premature end. The Naradana Platform benefited from the UI and technical enhancements, and the developers gained valuable experience working in a new environment. The intense daily communication between Naradana and Nika Craft facilitated the transfer of detailed knowledge and ensured the project's success. The team from Nika Craft, composed of three developers, a lead developer, and a DevOp, demonstrated significant expertise and were instrumental in achieving the project goals.
